I met little Lillian on the 8th of December at her home, deep in the country, after a wild stormy morning, in mid-winter. Lillian slept soundly in Angela's arms, after feeding. I sketched Lillian in changing afternoon light as she stretched, snuggled, moved her arms and fingers, opened her eyes and looked about! She is Emmettt's new little sister. Lillian is a treasure, like
her brother, very beautiful and such a joy to hold.

From 'the Gift' series

The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious. It is the
fundamental  emotion that stands at the cradle of true art and true science...

In this series,  my focus is on my first encounter with Baby and the act
of drawing itself. I sketch the portrait on a wooden box for my pals, as
gift for their baby. It is a personal keepsake, symbolic of love and trust.
